Terms of Use

Effective date: 4 November 2026

This is a working draft of the Sealio Terms of Use, published so users can see the rules that apply today. It is being reviewed by legal counsel and may be revised. If it changes, we will update this page and the effective date (see Section 17).

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Sealio iOS app, the website at sealio.io, and related features (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. They are written in plain English. Headings are for convenience only.

Sealio is designed for use in many countries. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under mandatory law in your country of residence that cannot be waived or limited by contract. Where these Terms conflict with such law, that law prevails.

1. Agreement and acceptance

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that organisation.

2. Who we are and how to contact us

The Service is operated by Roberto Salvatore Piras Murgia, a private individual ("Sealio", "we", "us", "our").

This email address is our single point of contact for users and for authorities, including for notices about illegal content and legal requests. We can communicate in English.

3. Eligibility

To use the Service you must:

If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms with you. We may restrict or end access if we reasonably believe a user does not meet these requirements.

4. The Service

Sealio is a peer-to-peer, end-to-end encrypted messaging app that uses the Solana mainnet blockchain.

In short:

What Sealio is not. Sealio is a communication tool. It is not a bank, payment institution, money transmitter, exchange, broker, custodian, wallet provider holding funds for others, or financial, investment, tax, or legal adviser. We never hold, control, or have access to your funds. Nothing in the Service is an offer of, or advice about, any financial product.

We may change, add, or remove features from time to time. Because the Service relies on a public blockchain and on your device, some features may be unavailable, delayed, or work differently depending on network conditions.

5. Your wallet and keys

Your Sealio identity is tied to cryptographic keys that are generated and stored on your device.

6. Blockchain and SOL risks

Using a public blockchain involves risks you should understand before using the Service, especially SOL transfers:

Donations. You may choose to send a voluntary donation in SOL to the project treasury address published by Sealio (currently 8LnT5zYXdWj3HFw1iFDZKSJa5gfq6LX8P3SV8Us3meYM). Donations are gifts. They do not give you tokens, ownership, profit share, returns, voting rights, priority support, or extra features, and they are not refundable once confirmed on-chain. The Service is otherwise free to use (apart from network fees).

7. Acceptable use and prohibited conduct

You agree to use the Service lawfully and respectfully. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not use the Service to create, send, store, or share, or to attempt or help anyone else to:

We may act on breaches of this Section as described in Sections 9 and 16.

8. Your content and licence

You own your content. Messages, media, and other material you create or share through the Service ("Your Content") belong to you (or to whoever owns them). You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the rights needed to share it.

Limited licence to us. To the extent that we need it to operate the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to transmit, store, and process Your Content only as technically necessary to provide, secure, and improve the Service — for example, relaying notifications or handling media you choose to share. This licence ends when Your Content is no longer handled by systems we control, except where we must keep information to comply with law or to handle a report.

On-chain ciphertext is public. Encrypted messages written to Solana are public as ciphertext and are designed to be permanent. Neither you nor we can delete them from the blockchain. Deleting the app or a conversation removes it from your device, not from Solana. Recipients can also keep, copy, or screenshot what you send them.

Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

9. Reporting and blocking

The Service includes in-app Report and Block tools.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process, why, and your rights (including under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation where it applies). By design, Sealio does not ask for your name, phone number, or email to use the Service, and does not hold your message plaintext or private keys. Please read the Privacy Policy together with these Terms.

11. Third-party services

The Service depends on services we do not own or control, which may include:

Your use of these services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, content, or practices, except where the law says otherwise. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience only.

12. App Store terms (Apple)

If you downloaded Sealio from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:

13. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that messages or transactions will be delivered or confirmed, or that any defects will be corrected.

For consumers in the EU, UK, and other countries with mandatory consumer guarantees: this Section does not affect your statutory rights, including any legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services, which continue to apply.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

What we do not exclude. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law (for example, EU or UK consumer protection law). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

15. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sealio from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party arising from (a) your breach of these Terms or the law, (b) Your Content, or (c) your misuse of the Service. This Section does not apply to consumers to the extent it is prohibited by mandatory consumer law.

16. Suspension and termination

By you. You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app. Remember that data already written to Solana stays on the blockchain, and you remain responsible for your keys and any funds at your address.

By us. We may suspend or restrict your access to features we operate, in whole or in part, if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms or the law, that your use creates risk or harm for others or for the Service, or if we are required to do so by law or by a competent authority. Where reasonable and legally permitted, we will tell you and give you an opportunity to respond. Because of how the Service is built, we cannot block access to the Solana blockchain itself or move or freeze your funds.

We may discontinue the Service, or any part of it, with reasonable notice where practicable.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 6, 8, 13, 14, 15, 19, and 20) continue to apply.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, the law, or the results of legal review. We will post the updated Terms at sealio.io/terms with a new effective date and, for material changes, give notice through the website or the app. Where required by law, we will give reasonable advance notice (normally at least 30 days) before material changes take effect.

If you continue to use the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service.

18. Export controls and sanctions

You must comply with all applicable export control and sanctions laws, including those of the European Union, the United Nations, the United Kingdom, and the United States. You confirm that you are not (a) located in, ordinarily resident in, or organised under the laws of a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions, or (b) listed on, or owned or controlled by anyone listed on, any applicable sanctions or restricted-party list. You must not use the Service, including SOL transfers, to deal with sanctioned persons or to evade sanctions.

19. Governing law and disputes

Informal resolution first. If you have a problem with the Service, please email info@sealio.io first. We will try in good faith to resolve it informally within 30 days. This step is optional and does not affect your right to go to court or use other dispute resolution options.

Governing law. These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of Denmark, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

Courts. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts of Denmark have jurisdiction.

Consumers in the EU, EEA, and UK. If you are a consumer living in the EU, EEA, or UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence as well as in Denmark. You may also have the right to use an alternative dispute resolution body in your country.

Consumers elsewhere. If the law where you live gives you the right to have these Terms governed by local law or to bring a claim in your local courts, those rights are not affected.

20. General

21. Effective date

These Terms take effect on 4 November 2026.
